Shouldn't take more than three sessions for your therapist to have some idea of how best to help and in what sort of timescale to complete the work.
Of course. If you are resistant to what your therapist is advising and reject 'the work' you need to do, that can prolong things.
And the age old argument about whether it suits a doctor to 'cure' you or continue to 'treat the illness rather than cure it', as is often said about Cancer care and other problems, because there's money to be made continuously, is always in the background.
