Have you and your mental health professional reached your goal?

The point where they say we can continue your sessions but you now have all the tools necessary to live a productive life. I get the feeling that a lot of them don't ever tell patients that.

No. Usually (I've had a few different therapies) I decided I've had enough now, resolved whatever I need to resolve, recovered from that trauma as much as possible, changed my thought pattern - whatever it is and then stop going. Usually they agree. I had one therapist who left a recommendation that I have art therapy if I returned to therapy, which I did, and I had art therapy.
