Liver pain with Glandular Fever?

Was diagnosed with Glandular Fever through a blood test on the 27th September. Tests picked up that my liver was inflamed, too.

Had two weeks worth of symptoms; severe sore throat, swollen glands and tonsils; loss of appetite; ect.

Doctor advised me to go for another blood test on the 9th. Results came back positive for Glandular Fever again. By the end of that week, my symptoms had died down.

Only this week, my symptoms have come back again: nausea every morning and night; pain around my liver; lower abdomen; and groin.

I can't afford to go to the doctors, which means more time off work. I already had two weeks off work due to it. But, I am being called for another liver test in four-six weeks.

To anyone that had or has Glandular Fever, did you get pain around your liver? Is it common for sufferers of the virus?

Yes it is. Liver function is compromised and your spleen is probably inflamed too. It takes time to recover from GF. You need to take things as easy as you can. Make sure your boss knows what's going on..

Isn't that mononucleosis ? You've got a really bad case . Most do t have GI symptoms ... so you're down and out for 6-8 weeks??

@TexChik Yeah, it's the same thing but another name.

I must have been, somewhere around that time. I can't be sure. Before diagnosis, I had ongoing nausea for two weeks, but thought nothing of it at the time. Thought it was because my e-cigarette voltage was too high 😂

Could be gallstones , they can be associated with glandular fever! See a doctor eitherway, I’m not one.

Get a second opinion from a different doctor.
