How do you convince someone with obvious mental health issues to seek treatment?

It is virtually impossible unless they want to seek help for themselves there is little you can do.

@eMortal You know that and I know that but the mentally ill person does not know that and in a civilized society we assume that everyone is capable of making rational choices unless they have been declared incompetent by the very individuals the ill person will not see. It is a very real problem for those with loved ones who have mental health issues.
