Are you taking benzo's? (Ativan, Xanax, valium, etc.)
These are actually far more addicting and harder to withdraw from than heroin or any of the other narcotic's.

I wouldn't compare the addiction to heroin. Because the chances to be exposed are lower and it depends on the dosage. And the mechanism of action is different.
Taking medications should be the last option of treatment. They change the brain dramatically and that should be the main concern.
