So you're anti-vax. Why?

What good evidence-based reason do you have for endangering yours and other people's children?

I'm not, but my friend's mom is. She says she's "read lots of studies" that prove they cause autism. I doubt she's done more than watch obscure YouTube videos, but people can find anything to corroborate what they already believe, no matter how poorly researched it is.

@Celine Like I understand why people come up with this stuff. Autism rates are rising and people struggle to understand why. So they latch onto something that's different about the modern era vs. previous times (i.e. vaccines) and say that's the cause, but it's arbitrary. There's also more computers nowadays, why not say computers cause autism? I've never seen a single reputable study that suggests vaccines cause autism.

@Celine Exactly. And in fact I think that's largely been proven. But anti-vaxxers won't see that.
