Everyone likes to be treated with kindness and respect so why is not everyone kind and respectful?

I suppose then that is another question - how to change people who are so damaged by Life that they are destructive of self and others?

@sogdianrock life-altering events can do that but it's rare....some are mean till the day they die and they give hell to the nursing staff in the hospital before they do.

I knew someone like that and she became pretty nice as she got older - in part at least I like to think because I did not give her back what she dished out.

@sogdianrock We need to set examples for others to teach them and if they persist with disrespect set boundaries, hopefully some will come around and make the change.
