So my boyfriend keeps getting bug bites and everytime they keep getting infected.

What does it mean? Why is he more prone to infection? I have big bites too but none of mine get infected?

You have a stronger immune system.
Although that in itself is probably good enough reason for your boyfriend to get himself checked out.
just to ensure there's no underlying cause for a weakened immune system.
