It's a lot like Tuscon but I think I better long term choice because Tuscon keeps getting hotter. It's beautiful and there's jobs and funky museums and some decent schools. Three hours away from all our favorite places in NM.
NM is the first place I ever wanted to move away to. It's good energy. It's a blue state. There's petty crime and poverty but that feels like an opportunity to help.
Houses and funky and affordable.

@MarbleMarvel and they have a ski hill I want to check out some year in the northern part of the state, the mountains around the 4 corners are pretty cool
@Justafantasy yeah we'd still be a short drive away from Durango and the four corners, white sands, Roswell, bisti badlands... Ugh
