Consulting your doctor

Consult your doctor whenever you experience concerning symptoms, persistent health changes, or need preventative care.
Do not minimize changes just because they are minor, or you assume they are a natural part of aging.
You should specifically consult your doctor if you notice any of the following:
Urgent Warning Signs
Severe chest pain, sudden difficulty breathing, or severe abdominal pain
Sudden confusion, slurred speech, facial drooping, or numbness (Call 112 or go to emergency hospital immediately for these signs)
High fever (especially if accompanied by a rash, stiff neck, or confusion)
Concerning New or Changing Symptoms
Unexplained weight loss or a significant loss of appetite
A persistent cough (lasting more than 2-3 weeks) or coughing up bloodNew lumps, moles that change in shape, size, or color, or sores that do not heal
Unusual bleeding (e.g., in urine, stool, or between periods)
Persistent fatigue or unexplained weakness that interferes with your daily life
Ongoing Issues and Mental Health
Chronic pain that does not improve with over-the-counter medication
Mental health struggles, such as ongoing anxiety, persistent sadness, or disruptions in your ability to function
Unexplained changes in bowel habits or persistent digestive issues
Preparation and Local Contacts
To make the most of your appointment, prepare by writing down your key symptoms, noting when they started, and bringing a list of all your current medications or supplements
