Whatever you need to do, do it! Don't worry about "cheating"
Mamapolo2016 · F
Cheating? Good grief! How do you take Advil?
Mindful · 56-60, F
@Mamapolo2016 hahaha ...I know it sounds odd... it's just that when I was younger I certainly didn't need to take Advil after excercising... and there's a saying... no pain no gain. Pain I's a scientific repair signal to repairing muscle thing... I could be tricking my body into not needing to repair some muscle ... but with this much ache I'm taking that risk... that at least half the signals are getting thru

I don't think you're cheating but we got to be careful as we age.
Mindful · 56-60, F
@Justmeraeagain thank you. Yes we do have to be careful as we age!!!!

I am allergic. I take a warm epsom salt bath. It really helps.

take magnesium it will relief you
Harmonium1923 · 56-60, M
I take it preventively before I run, which is 2-3 times a week. It is the best way I have found to manage tendinitis in my knees. I rarely use it at other times.

@Harmonium1923 thanks for sharing! I appreciate
Viste that I'm not alone in the aches/pain medication. I almost never take it but If I'm suffering... I feel justified but I know health wise I should keep it at a minimum.

@Mindful I feel like the health benefits of the running far outweigh any concerns about such a modest dose of Advil.

@Harmonium1923 I think you are right!!!!

Thats probably not good to do.

Not on any regular basis. Once, sure and it should help, but the recommendation is a Tylenol (not an NSAID)

Side note on Advil (all NSAIDs). After the age of about 50 they are not advised on any regular basis.
Kidneys as we grow older are less and less able to do their job and can easily be damaged by repeated use of NSAID medications.
