Care home blues
At the start of 2026 I had to move into a care home for a bit, where I can live semi-independently.
As my Doctor and the local authority thought it was for the best.
I'd always been fit and active but struggled with a lot of falls and they just wanted to keep an eye on my till I got better.
I'm in a flat (apartment) in part of the care home with 3 other residents, who live the same way as me.
When I say flat, it's basically a bed-room, living room and we have a shared kitchen and other facilities, even a TV room (lol). Yeah at my age I am the youngest there by years! I have managed to cut the number of falls I've been having and can even work from home (remotely), so...I am hopeful I can get out of there home and back to the actual flat that I managed to buy and now own.
