Anniversary Of My Broken Right Femur

Well its been a year since my unfortunate accident. Yes I was minding my own business when a Hispanic male. Walked up to me asking if I had any spare cigarettes he could have. I told him sorry I don't smoke we laughed about how addicting nicotine is. So he walked off but I guess a switch flipped off in his head. He turned around & walked back towards me asking me if I got a problem. I said no then he hit & kicked me an fell to the ground
Once he walked off again I stood up I felt my forehead I was bleeding. So I started walking to the stairs to get downstairs to the bus level. I was originally on the DART train level at first. Funny thing is I was at Parkland Hospital picking up my prescriptions. So I walked around trying to find the emergency room to get checked out. The guy that attacked me I guess took the elevator downstairs. Cause he found me asking me I better not be going to the police. I was thinking no I want to get my wound on my head fixed. Then he asked me for my backpack which he grabbed the shoulder strap. Then he pulled it off my shoulder which such force. I spun around & fell down to the ground. He walked off with prescriptions & my personal information files. I tried to stand up but my right leg was completely immobile. So I laid there on the ground in a driveway for cars to pull out. A couple of DART or Dallas or Parkland police officers asked me if I was okay. I told them no I couldn't move my right leg. So they called for a ambulance to take me to the emergency room. While I was waiting they asked me for a description of the assailant. I explained to them what I could remember. I told them my backpack was stolen also. After I got admitted to the hospital the police came looking for me. They found my backpack but nobody that fit the description I gave them. My backpack was open of course my prescriptions were missing. So I hope he got some good money selling my blood pressure & antidepressant medicine. Unfortunately I never followed through with the investigation of the attack. I was taken to get xrays of my leg sure enough it was broken. I was rushed in for emergency surgery to repair my leg. I was told they put 2 rods in my leg & screws. It was a clean break so I didn't need a cast. I was given a wheelchair to move around till my leg healed. After 6 months I went to physical therapy & was given a manual walker. To help me better strengthen my legs even though I was driving the wheelchair with my feet. If it weren't for 7-Eleven I wouldn't have gotten out of my wheelchair anytime soon. They had a problem with the door we enter & exit the store from. So we had to use the revolving door. I couldn’t get in the store with my wheelchair not even walking with it folded up. So the next time I needed something from 7-Eleven I walked slowly. Which I did alright & got what I needed. So I have been walking around for 6 months now. People in my apartment complex are proud of my accomplishments.
