Arthritis pain

Has anyone had a severe arthritis flare up come out of nowhere? Two months ago I woke up and couldn’t walk. I’ve been to the doctor, had cortisone shots, physical therapy and some prescription meds that didn’t do anything. It wasn’t a narcotic. I asked for something stronger and was told no. Is this my new “normal”? Any tips or suggestions would be most appreciated. I’m 69.

I woke up 4 weeks ago, got out of bed only for my left knee to cry out in pain. My right knee does sometimes aggravate me but only walking upstairs so this was a bolt out of the blue. Thinking that I must have maybe twisted it somehow I plodded on with some ibuprofen. The pain lessened over a week but not much. Resisting going to the doctor I researched only to find out that arthritis can indeed just flare up. I read that high dose Omega 3 fish oil can help reduce joint problems so I bought some and started taking 2 a day for the last 2 weeks and I am now free of pain.

@Dayman343 that is awesome! I need to look into that. Im willing to try anything at this point. Im so scared of falling bc my knee just buckles sometimes. I hope the fish oil continues to give you some relief.

@Mbingh01 Yes, I have no pain at all now. Whether the fish oil was responsible I couldn't say for sure but it's said that it has anti inflammatory benefits amongst others. Read up on it first and maybe consult your doctor.
