I am so sorry! Regarding bone on bone knee pain, the ONLY relief you are likely to find is two step. First, have cortisone injections done in both knees. AFTER that, wear a knee brace on both knees that takes the pressure off the knee and separates the bone on bone situation.

This is the "best affordable version".


This is the expensive one, and it has a hinge.



My ex-husband also had injections of something called Synvisc, which the doctor described as "STP for the knee."

He also had a full length knee icing wrap provided by the doctor, so that the pain would abate enough for him to sleep. Ice helps a lot.
@4meAndyou but I should warn you. If you are overweight then start getting your weight down now because they will not do that operation if you are very overweight.

@4meAndyou Yeh, I need to lose weight as well and I'm working on that. It also makes the surgery go way better.
