I am waiting for someone from the hospital to call me to schedule a test

and I’ve been waiting since Wednesday morning, so I called my dr’s office to check up on it, and she said “they probably aren’t there on Wednesday to schedule it, or Friday, and then it’s Saturday and Sunday, so I’d give them today and tomorrow”
😐
and so.. if I hear nothing today or tomorrow, and they don’t schedule on Wednesday through Sunday (???) then I’m waiting another week and I won’t have my test in time for my next dr appointment.

I’m so frustrated

Sorry people are being so annoying here. What's going on? Are you ok?
They did that to me, i been waiting three months. I called my dictor back. She finally called them back. They said they can't cant take any new patients for these procedures. So now i have to go to another place in another town. And they haven't called to schedule either. I gave up

@Bexsy oh my gosh.
When my dr said she was going to send it to the hospital her office was associated with, I said I don’t know if they accept my insurance, but I know another hospital that does. She said she’s going to send it to her hospital first, and if they say I’m not covered, then she’ll send it to the other hospital. So I don’t know if I just didn’t get a call back because I’m not covered there.
I don’t see why she couldn’t send the request to both hospitals.
I tried to see several doctors associated with the hospital that accepts my insurance and almost none of them were accepting new patients, and the one that was, said the next appointment was in *6 months*, which is why I’m driving 45 minutes to see this doctor.

I’ve truly considered just going to the ER to get the dumb test, but the surprise billing at my nearest ER is really bad. So I’ve considered driving an hour to a bigger city that has a better ER, but if they admit me, it would be an ordeal getting home.
@itsok they make things so difficult and jump through so many hoops, i hope it gets straightened out for you quickly
Ah yes. The wonderful world of health systems. I've had a couple of health issues this past year and I just feel like it's a complete shitshow. Everyone's there to collect a check. I don't think they're very interested in helping.

@Nadie that’s truly what it feels like, there are so many obvious problems, and I know there has to be a much easier way to do it.
It feels set up to make things harder every step of the way

I *hate* this about medical systems. Everything is set around appointment times which are never respected and leave people in genuinely dangerous situations.

On behalf of them...I'm sorry. :/

If no one calls you from the hospital that is good news, you are healthy!

@itsok Doctors prioritize things in order of necessity, I am saying this because most of the time if you have an emergency, you will be asked to go to the hospital the same day and be admitted and then follow up with tests. Please don't worry. Your doctor is in charge of your outcomes.

@Carazaa that always goes well

@itsok At least that's what happens at most hospitas. Doctors have a lot of say what's needed. If it is an emergency, the doctor will admit you to the hospital until the doctor feel you are healthy enough to go home. That's how it works.
You look like you're 21-25 lol

@uikakarotuevegeta does that affect medical scheduling?
itsok · 31-35, F
@Guardian I did call?

I hope it's nothing very bad.
Please take care of yourself.
