I cannot believe it.
I went to Urgent Care today, and I had been on 500 mg of an antibiotic to help with terrible tooth pain. I had just one day left of those and I told the doctor I would like to have at least 30 days worth, so I don't have to keep coming back every week. Instead of giving me 500 mg of an antibiotic, she took me down to only 300 mg and she only gave me enough for 7 days.
Obama Care only covers teenagers, not adults. What kind of help is that? What about seniors?
I called each and every dental plan.. None of them are affordable, as the plans start out at $200 a month, at like 39.9%. and it takes way over a year to pay them off. I cannot afford to pay $200 out of my paycheck each month.
I called all the dental schools, where one can get free dental care at, but they do not perform root canals. So my only choice is to have my front tooth pulled, as I have exhausted every avenue.
The least expensive and easiest type of extraction, costing between $70–$250 per tooth. Even Medicaid doesn't help. They only pay 30% of the bill and then you're still stuck trying to pay off the rest of the bill, at a very high interest rate.
How do they expect people to afford dental care? The X-ray on just that one tooth, cost me $101. I needed my whole mouth x-rayed but could not do it. That would have been $280, I was told. I called every number I could find for 3 days, with no success. I even asked if I could pay $80 a month to the doctor I was referred to, but they wouldn't work with me on just one tooth, and I don't have any other creditors. I will really have to have that front tooth pulled. I cannot afford dentures or implants. We need a dental program in this country that everyone can afford and that includes health, as well. Out of all those that I called and even left a message and an email, I'm still praying that one will contact me, but I did not even get one call yesterday.
