I cannot believe it.

I went to Urgent Care today, and I had been on 500 mg of an antibiotic to help with terrible tooth pain. I had just one day left of those and I told the doctor I would like to have at least 30 days worth, so I don't have to keep coming back every week. Instead of giving me 500 mg of an antibiotic, she took me down to only 300 mg and she only gave me enough for 7 days.

Obama Care only covers teenagers, not adults. What kind of help is that? What about seniors?

I called each and every dental plan.. None of them are affordable, as the plans start out at $200 a month, at like 39.9%. and it takes way over a year to pay them off. I cannot afford to pay $200 out of my paycheck each month.

I called all the dental schools, where one can get free dental care at, but they do not perform root canals. So my only choice is to have my front tooth pulled, as I have exhausted every avenue.

The least expensive and easiest type of extraction, costing between $70–$250 per tooth. Even Medicaid doesn't help. They only pay 30% of the bill and then you're still stuck trying to pay off the rest of the bill, at a very high interest rate.

How do they expect people to afford dental care? The X-ray on just that one tooth, cost me $101. I needed my whole mouth x-rayed but could not do it. That would have been $280, I was told. I called every number I could find for 3 days, with no success. I even asked if I could pay $80 a month to the doctor I was referred to, but they wouldn't work with me on just one tooth, and I don't have any other creditors. I will really have to have that front tooth pulled. I cannot afford dentures or implants. We need a dental program in this country that everyone can afford and that includes health, as well. Out of all those that I called and even left a message and an email, I'm still praying that one will contact me, but I did not even get one call yesterday.

I got a dental plan from Mutual of Omaha that is reasonably priced. There are plans out there, you need to check with your dentist and find out what insurance they take.

Also see if they take care credit, a medical credit card you can apply for. You can pay off a more expensive bill over time for zero percent if done within 6 months I believe.

Sorry you are having such difficulties. The Lord is with you. May He give you peace and healing, and help make the way for you to take care of all of this.
@OverTheHill The dental plans are insulting because they start out at $200 a month payments, for root canals.

@LadyGrace No I posted my comment and then was out for the evening.
I am so sorry that you are having such a difficult time.

Are there any Dental.schools near you? They do perform reduced cost or no cost treatments to allow students to do dental work on patients.

Here is a link that may help:

@OverTheHill I called every dental school. They do not do root canals.

you have to be very careful with antibiotics that long. make sure you are taking an probiotic. i had an abscessed tooth and the ENT and the oral surgeon couldn't agree. you can easily get cdiff
@akindheart yes I know there are dangers like this. For that reason I can't wait much longer. I'll have to have it pulled. The doctor told me about that yesterday.

I thank the Lord that when I retired and was forced to go an Medicare that I was able to get an advantage plan that was negotiated with the teamsters union.
It is open enrollment check out advantage plans. Mine is through Humana. They have a lot of options.

@LadyGrace wow. I'm truly sorry to hear that. I hoped I could help. Well when all else fails the Lord is still on the throne. Will pray about it.
@Baremine I checked all those out. They are not affordable for myself.
@Baremine yes, I believe that.

Do you have a good friend who knows how to get you a go fund me page set up? Maybe?? Sometimes they go up really fast, sometimes they don't help at all but if you promote it a lot it can raise you the money you need!
@saintsong a friend tried that before when I needed a shoulder replacement but it didn't work. It would be too slow anyway. I need to fix this right now before I lose the whole tooth.

You dont know what type of medication you are taking?
Patriot96 · 56-60, C
@LadyGrace no doctor would continue to prescribe that much antibiotics for that long. Antibiotics would not treat pain

@texasdaddydom These antibiotics have helped greatly with the pain. I could not do without them.
