Smoking is more hazardous for your health but alcohol is more hazardous for the health of everyone else. The wider effects of alcohol include drink driving, domestic abuse and general drink fuelled violence.

@ostfuidctyvm it is now that smoking has been banned in most public places. My ex was so selfish about smoking in front of others including children. He thought it was his right to do so because he bought the cigarettes and even in other people’s homes. When our friend’s little girl was hospitalized for breathing problems due to second-hand smoke her pediatrician told her mother not to let anyone smoke in the home from then on, even when the girl was not at home. So she made the rule and it offended my ex. He got angry and said he had a right to. I argued with him about it saying people have a right to make rules for their own homes and he doesn’t have to like it. He was so obnoxious about his smoking I ended up having to hire a lawyer and go to court for supervised visitation because he didn’t care if our daughter got sick from it. She’d come home from visitation with an ear, nose or throat infection any time she spent a weekend at his house, this was after he stopped dumping her off at his parents.
