What could be causing this?

Suddenly I feel an electric shock on my face, and sometimes there is pain. I have been suffering from this problem for years and it seriously affects my quality of life. What could be causing this?

May be trigeminal neuralgia or facial nerve affection.

I know if two causes involving the same area. One is MS affecting the trigeminal nerve in the face. The second is a growth around or pinching of the same nerve. I would get it checked. If the nerve is damaged, you can get facial paralysis.

Is it near your ear or jaw bone.

Is it random or specific to a section.. because face is a large area. Nerves do generate electricity like for me it happens on my neck.
