USA doesn't make the Top 50 for life expectancy

According to a study, the top reasons include:

• smoking
• obesity
• violence
• poverty
• Automobile Accidents
• Access to healthcare.

Though the over arching reason appears to be "The failure to prevent poor health is a factor that is contributing..."

Automobile accidents a "top reason"? 🤔

The 30,000 or so automobile deaths amount to less than 1% of the 3.5 million annual deaths in the US.

But I was astonished to find that the lowest automobile death rates are found in the UK and Japan.
And they drive on the wrong side of the road ! 😲

@Thinkerbell I didn't want to point out the #1 cause. It's guaranteed to bring out the crazies. I just pulled the causes of death mentioned. Read the study. It's interesting.

I read it.

They mention a number of factors that are relatively small contributors to the overall American death rate (such as automobile accidents and murders), but somehow overlook alcoholism.

I give the article a B-.
