USA doesn't make the Top 50 for life expectancy

According to a study, the top reasons include:

• smoking
• obesity
• violence
• poverty
• Automobile Accidents
• Access to healthcare.

Though the over arching reason appears to be "The failure to prevent poor health is a factor that is contributing..."

An American here in England pointed out the posters on the walls of the health centre waiting room. He was impressed by the fact all the posters and free booklets in the rack were offering advice about how to avoid health issues and stay well. He told me they don't do that in the USA, because there's too much money to be made from bad health. The NHS is designed to help avoid illness, but the USA regard illness as a commodity to be exploited for profit.

@Richard65 Slade is right. US doctor's offices are full of preventative literature. All of my co-workers in the UK are very happy with their private insurance plan from our employer because the NHS sucks so much.
