My niece is sick, and it has been a long time of trying to figure out what’s wrong

At this point they’re thinking it’s probably celiac’s but today a doctor told her they think it could be lupus. It has been a lot of stuff, including a potentially unnecessary surgery, and she was just referred to two new doctors today.

all that for my mom to say she thinks it’s EMFs from my niece living next to a cell tower 🥹🥹🥹
it’s partly funny and partly infuriating

they can rule out Celiac but lupus is harder, i think. hope they'll nail it down soon so she can begin to heal and feel better. i have Celiac and it caused lactose intolerance due to damaged small intestine. i'm healing, tho. i can tell you, i was very sick before it was figured out

@SW-User they’re doing an endoscopy and I think they’re taking a biopsy of the rash, too. It’s so hard to get into those doctors, and the wait time is so far out. And even to get to the point where they think it might be celiac’s they have tried so many things, and have told her it was so many things.
Her gallbladder was removed because they thought it needed to be, and now she’s being told that may have been because of celiac’s too.
I’m sorry you were so sick, and I’m glad it was figured out. Did you get a rash?

@itsok yes, i had a horrible rash under both breasts (one side would never heal all the way) and my ears and eyelash line itched constantly. it also made me extremely fatigued. the gastrointestinal effects were off the charts; pain and cramping (esp around the pancreas and gallbladder). i wanted to die at points

@SW-User I’m so sorry, and this sounds very similar to her. Her rash started under her breasts and she was told it was fungal/yeast so many times but none of the fungal creams or pills helped. Then when the rash spread to other places they stopped telling her it was fungal. Now it’s covering her arms and completely covering the fronts of her legs and now going in between her legs. She said the pain and itching is unbearable. She got a steroid shot for it today. And her stomach pain is really bad, even after removing her gallbladder. And she was told like two weeks ago that if it is celiac’s she can’t stop eating gluten until after the endoscopy. It feels so bad to see her so miserable

yeah, that was really hard on me too. it's as simple as not consuming gluten, but they have to check for certain types of damage and antibodies 🫤

the rash is different than a normal rash (goes several layers down and actually hurts) and nothing helps but not eating gluten. no medicine in the world can help it, i tried them all and all the natural stuff too.

my housemate told me there was a few times she wondered if i was going to make it. she said it was hard to see me constantly suffering, but i can sure tell you... i was unaware of anything but my own hell
