I wonder why people are delusional.

Most people eat the standard American diet, I'm not knocking on vegans or plant based eaters but it's always been weird to me how saturated fat is the blame when everything is fried plants and seed oils that spoil.

How can you, for instance, have McDonald's and then blame the beef patty for your diseases when the entire meal is made out of fifty ingredients EXCEPT the beef.

I just don't get where people don't really have any common sense. To them, they're healthy if they eat the entire fast food meal except the beef patty lol.

People confuse nutritional issues. We need fat to live it's just easy to consume too much of it.

But with McDonald's it's more a meal which is high calorie, low nutrient, and loaded with sugar.

@CountScrofula that sodium too

@deadgerbil I find on the keto carnivore diet which I'm on now, I need sodium so for me it's the exact opposite. But for the average American yeah they could do with less sodium.

@CountScrofula Agreed but I still don't understand where the confusion lays for some of these people. I hear "but Americans are obese and they eat meat" and then I have to say "fast food is what Americans mostly eat which consists of fried plants, high fructose and salt which is super horrible for you." Then they say "nu uh it's the red meat" and then it goes back and fourth like that.

So right now about 40% of people are walking around believing that all those fried carbs and sugar is healthier than eating the meat itself which is honestly confusing for me since knowing that those things are bad is kind of like acknowledging gravity exists, it's that easy.

@SatanBurger lots of people try to find excuses for weight gain, be it carbs, meat, etc. They casually ignore that the average American is eating a caloric surplus each day while doing no exercise to warrant stuffing their faces and try to blame carbs or whatever else

@deadgerbil I think you're right but it's still frustrating when people blame meat for American's ills and woes seeing as half of it is fried carbs and high fructose in literally everything. Fried carbs are delicious by the way but it's highly doubtful one hamburger is the cause for all cause mortality and I'm sick of hearing it.

@SatanBurger the fear mongering is annoying. A good % of it comes from people who are trying to sell their diet program etc and it's easy to demonize carbs etc for a quick buck

@SatanBurger I don't hear many people go after red meat much anymore--generally it's processed food that gets a lot of flak, and deservedly so. Everyone I know who stopped eating processed food and started cooking their own food (no matter what diet it adheres to, if any) has had their health improve. It's that "fifty ingredients" that's the problem. But fast food is cheap and whole ingredients are expensive, and the price just keeps going up. I don't think we're going to see overall health in this country improve any time soon.
