Caring for an extremely obese partner

When your caring for anyone but especially a very large person it’s easy to get lost in the day to day routine but you really do need to plan ahead and get systems in place.
So what happens if you go down illness or accident who cares for your loved one then.so better to have a plan in place.

With this should anything happen to you support is in place and the details will not all have to be remembered by your loved one and some embarrassing moments can be avoided.
I had a friend who passed because she was too embarrassed to thee the cares she couldn’t get to the camode alone and died from sepsis from sitting in her own waste.

volunteers care associations and care provided by your GP
It’s worth registering with these organisations to find out what’s available.
As is providing them with a detailed plan of what you do for the person, they will often provide a tick box sheet.
Do not underplay the help make sure you cover the support for
Hygiene
Toileting
Dressing
Mobility hat you help with and how mobile they are
Preparing meals times they eat
Times they sleep
Shopping etc
Meds they take doses and times
Their current weight
Equipment you have for them

Family or friends this may seem obvious but it’s not always a good call.
Do they get on with your partner and have they any idea of the extent of the support you provide
Will you partner be mortified with them knowing the extent of the care.
It may be better to get them to visit but leave the care to others

Thank you for the information, I can see I am woefully unprepared if anything
were to happen to my Mum. I feel guilty that she has to care for me when it should be the other way round.

Sound silly but it’s better to have a plan and not use it than to be caught without one. So your mum cares for you that’s because she loves you because your a wonderful person@Fatalice
