In the ideal world... I'd likely look to spend somewhere around £200 and get a chair with heat and massage capabilities - working on the assumption that I spend +12 hours of my day sitting in an office chair. For me, it's an investment in my comfort that my body will thank me for over time because I will have dual means of controlling my pain throughout the day.
Once I get to the point where I am working and have financial independence, I will likely do that for however long I remain imprisoned here because I will be spending just as long as I do now if not longer working on my computer.
Let's say my £200 chair breaks after 4 years, I've only spent £50 per year on it - which works out at the equivalent of the average cheap chair that I currently use per year.

@Riemann There's this one at Ikea... but it doesn't look as comfortable to sit in...
