These people at the doctors office are something else

So I think it was Friday I called the doctors office, my boss was concerned about me with this cough I have, suggested with how I was sounding that it could be bronchitis. So I called the office just for advice or things to do, and some doctor I never even met, prescribes me medicine to help relieve the cough, even though the cough is helping to cough up phlegm.

Anyway, I said to them, well I can't really afford much of anything right now, and the girl on the phone says, you have health insurance right? She was acting like, "Oh. Well you have health insurance so you're covered" SIGH. That's not how it works you dummy!! Just because I have health insurance, it doesn't cover every little health thing 100%!! There's still money I have to pay to be able to buy the prescription.

These people really are something else. And then got another reminder text about my prescription that I'm not planning to pick up earlier this morning. When she asked me if I had health insurance, I should have said, why do you ask? Because I know how that would have went. She would have said, well the insurance will cover part of that cost, then my response would have been, yeah, but depending on that final cost it might still be too expensive!!

It's only a $6.00 prescription, but like, my neurologist wants me to get an EEG done, and for my own personal health, I want to have an EKG done on my heart. My deductible is $2,000. So, I have to pay out $2,000 before the insurance will cover most of my stuff. And I already had to set up a payment plan because 2 doctor visits and 2 blood works are like $319. It's insane!

Healthcare costs are ridiculously high, but I know a lot of it iis because they have increased costs too. I live in an area where doctors are in short supply. You have to wait forever for appointments.
