Isn't it weird when you go to fill a prescription and the prescription reads differently than what your doctor prescribed?

I've had a prescription in my purse since earlier this year. I dug around in my purse/wallet to find it today, because I'm itching ALL OVER. Urgh. Anyway, the dermatologist definitely prescribed a medication for my head according to our office visit. But, the prescription said to apply it to my ears. 🤦‍♀️

What?

I don't understand how doctor offices mess that up. If I got it filled, I don't know if the pharmacy would have specified the exact area, but still...

By the way, it is a prescription for dandruff. My head was itching.

many doctors and practitioners would lose their own head if it weren't attached; I've continuously had problems with them not filling a prescription (defeat the point of going to begin with),writing wrong prescription, forwarding it to wrong pharmacy, prescribing medication that conflicts with another, etc.

Generally speaking, Pharmacists are more knowledgeable about medications, their uses, side effects, limitations, etc. than most of the doctors that prescribe them...
