Isn't it weird when you go to fill a prescription and the prescription reads differently than what your doctor prescribed?

I've had a prescription in my purse since earlier this year. I dug around in my purse/wallet to find it today, because I'm itching ALL OVER. Urgh. Anyway, the dermatologist definitely prescribed a medication for my head according to our office visit. But, the prescription said to apply it to my ears. 🤦‍♀️

What?

I don't understand how doctor offices mess that up. If I got it filled, I don't know if the pharmacy would have specified the exact area, but still...

By the way, it is a prescription for dandruff. My head was itching.

Who filled it? Dr office or drugstore?

@Applepiedom Well, I didn't fill it. I was thinking about it, because my head is itching. Anyway, I got it as a written prescription, because I didn't know when/where I wanted to fill it. It was written earlier this year. I just dug it out and read it. I was surprised it said to apply the meds to my ears! 🤦‍♀️

@perceptivei ok I misunderstood. That is strange but you can check with pharmacist on use before they fill it

@Applepiedom I read the side effects of the meds regardless of where its applied. I'm scared to fill it. I bought another type of head and shoulders shampoo for now. And, I figure ALL of my skin might be dry right now for some reason. I haven't been using any heat, because it's been so warm. So, I don't know why I'm so dry from head to toe, literally. Does the lack of humidity affect my skin? We haven't had much rain here. I don't know. I'm used to the heat making my skin dry... so, it's confusing.

I guess, that's too much information. Bottom line is I'm not keen on filling a prescription I know nothing about. Great. Now my head itches again. 😐

@perceptivei yes dry air can make skin worse. Sounds gross but real mayonnaise on head may help. Protein and oils should help dryness. Then rinse out it's like conditioner.
For body eucern lotion is used on premise to moisturize skin. Works well good luck
I'll be here hoping you get relief
