@Wiseacre I've been waiting for nearly 6 months for a drug I need so people who want to lose a couple winter pounds can snatch it up off-label. An oncologist was just so offended that he be asked to read a medical history that he dropped the patient and denied him cancer treatment. We routinely drop off patients with fewer finances at the ER and in some locations it's not uncommon to see them 72 hours later. In LA, they used to dump homeless patients right out into the street without any treatment. Drugs that cost pennies elsewhere will use up half a week's paycheck here, and that's only if you're lucky enough to work for someone who will help ensure your health.
This isn't a competition here - I think it's important that people in both nations understand they can demand better. The longer we sit on a pole and crow about being the best, we miss opportunities every day to actually improve.
