I have a sore throat that has not gotten any better in 2 days

** problem resolved**
Everytime I swallow it feels like sandpaper.
The best I've felt in 2 days is when I ate hot noodles.

I've had the chills, body aches, fatigue.
I tested negative for COVID.

My doctor won't be in Monday.

Could it be strep throat?
I've been taking pics of it daily. It's really red at the back but I do not see any white spots.

I do not have a cough

TLDR :What can I do to help my throat after 2 days of suffering?

Unusual redness is often one sign it could be strep. I think you can still test positive for a strep swab even without white patches. A few of my strep throats never had them either.

You're guaranteed to feel like death though--aches, chills, fever--the works.

I used an over the counter throat spray with an anesthetic in it like Chloraseptic

ice chips, or menthol lozenges may help too.

Try and get an antibiotic asap, as strep runs long, as you know.

When I had my last bout, the fever ran 2 weeks without breaking and was excruciating.
It cleared, then the sore throat began a week later and kept getting worse with white spots.
With the fever gone, I could finally tolerate sitting at the doctor's, who confirmed strep and gave an antibiotic.

Feel better, and get well soon!!

@SethGreene531 it was strep. I actually didn't feel too terrible. Felt like a regular sore throat, that was unresponsive to any medicine , broth, cough drop, throat spray etc and seemed to be getting worse.
I'd been sneezing multiple times daily, prior (unusual for me) to feeling sick.
Felt suddenly sick Saturday while at the grocery store. Went downhill from there. Went to doc after work 🥹 Monday and was confirmed
