I remember when my doctor thought I was being fussy.

I was dealing with severe anxiety, lost tons of weight, had diahorra often, every time I ate something it triggered severe stomach pains.
The year before I had meningitis and was in intensive care for 2 weeks, during that time my spleen stopped working...
I was panicking... They sent me for a colonoscopy.
Turns out I had ibs but my mucus levels were high and there was a pH imbalance...
I had to change my diet and eat all the rubbish crap that we all hate.
They prescribed me this probiotics that cost an arm and a leg.
But imagine had it been something else...
My body was really out of wack after the meningitis... It was a lot to deal with if I'm honest.

The reason I'm posting this is because they've been talking about bowl cancer again as levels are rising go and get checked if you suspect anything out ordinary

Your doctor was an idiot not to take you seriously. They tend to do that to women when they don’t know what’s wrong instead of sending you to a specialist. It happened with my daughter. She was having one problem after another for two years and I finally asked him to test her thyroid and he got hackled by that and said well we tested it a little over 2 years ago and it came back good. I said it needs to be tested again, she has no energy and she’s a teen. I had to get school forms to have her home school and they made the doctor filled out several pages of very complex questions. That pissed him off but I didn’t care. He said she was being lazy and just wanted to stay home and play video games all day (pulled that out of his damned ass). Test came back that she had Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and he sent her to a specialist. And she also had systemic lupus plus a seizure disorder.

@Mellowgirl I studied what little I could find back then and found some natural ways to help my daughter, diet especially. If she started craving a new food that she never cared for before and wanted it often I would do some reading on the food, usually ended up at the library if I couldn’t find it in any of the dozen books I had on natural medicine. And every single one of them was said to have health benefits for her condition. Green tea, Indian curry spices, eggplant, salmon, blackberry leaf tea, etc. Eggplant has an anti seizure chemical in it, she was cooking and eating 3 large ones every week. Blackberry leaf tea was soothing her inflamed digestive system that otherwise caused her to miss 2-3 days of school when it flared up (had to stay very close to the bathroom).

@Mellowgirl Also when he called me to tell me the test results he said he would fill out the school forms, I know that took a long time. But I let him do it and I didn’t really want to home school her. I thought “well that will learn him to take his patients seriously from now on” I didn’t even bother to pick up those papers, they probably sat on his desk till he threw them out.

Please please if theyre not taking you seriously write to your gp manager. Gem went through 3 years of misdiagnosis and has lost her hearing pretty much. Its tough.
We wrote to the gp practice manager they then after 2 weeks referred her to ent. It was too late but she's getting the answers she needs now .
Dont let it carry on babe x
