If your co-worker tells you she's on a fixed income...what's that?

To me, when someone says they are on a fixed income, I think that they only receive so much income, like a salaried manager making $80,000 a year. Now granted the manager gets paid bi-weekly, but makes the same amount year after year. A raise might come up at some point, but generally salaried employees tend to make a fixed amount that never really changes.

But yes, someone on a pension, or SSI, I could see too, however, there are people who come out of retirement to work 3 days a week. So that fixed income is now no longer fixed for those who choose to do that.
