Let's talk about medicines.

I read an article today at the doctor's office about autoimmune disorders and the current treatments. one of the treatments they said is the use of corticosteroids. I know someone who had corticosteroid treatment and he had to get his hip replaced because of it. So many drugs have such awful side effects it makes me wonder why they bother recommending them. Of course everyone might not have issues with certain side effects, but still. I know I took a diabetes med that gave me recurring skin infections ending with a necrotizing skin infection. (Which was listed as one of the possible side effects.) I'm only urging people to please be careful about the medical therapies they choose. Anyone else have any experiences they'd like to share?

Steroids can cause brittle bones but yet I still get the injections. Everything has risks but if the benefits outweigh the risk, it is worth it.

I have had over 20+ steroid injections.
