'Water weight'

Any gym / fitness / diet people who can explain this to me? Like the whole concept / truth of it.

Because I know weight can fluctuate, and this is a reason. But also we're supposed to consume however much water in a day (8 glasses)? So it is good for you and has no calories, but also it makes us heavier?

Last week during a huge heatwave in the UK I was lighter and an inch smaller around my middle, I assume this was partly due to how much I was sweating 😅 And I know boxers, bodybuilders, jockeys etc can 'lose' pounds of weight from sweat before a weigh-in.

Being hydrated is essential for good health. That said we need to flush it through. So a nice cup of tea helps us to do this
