why dont women like when men cut their long hair

I was talking to my girlfriend today and I told her I wanted to cut my hair and she was just not having it, my hair is long very thick and very curly. I usually let her style it cause she likes to play with my hair, but today I said i was getting tired of dealing with it and she just says “No you’re not cutting your hair EOD” lmao why?
