I read your later posts about ear hair and eyelashes prior to seeing this one. But it was al necessary hair in the past when humans were starting to go from apes to human and some of it is still needed.
Nose hair (if it is not trimmed) has about a MERV 8 rating and so filters out some of the larger particles we might breath in on a windy day and when moist might help filter some biological particles. Eyelashes protected our eyes from dust and such. Ear hair helped protect our ear drums and from getting infections there too. Today we seem to not have as much as our ancestors as most of us lost it as we work indoors and live in cities that are somewhat less dusty and windy versus the out in the country. Maybe that is why we see more infections today as we no longer have the abundance of that type of hair in those locations.

Good investigative work Wandering! How about eyelashes? Have they been covered as well? I suppose they could be grouped with eyebrows.

@Reject I think they are! So we all have facial hair!

@WanderingThrough Technically yes. Lol. If we’re getting technical though, everyone’s face is covered in facial hair. It’s just so small you don’t see it. There’s very few parts of the body that have no hair at all.

@Reject That’s true. We’re just animals covered in hair.
What about ear hair?
If long enough to wrap around to my upper lip?

I'll have to think long and hard about that one🤔

@daydeeo Whilst you trim those wild nose hairs of yours?
daydeeo · 61-69, M
@WanderingThrough No that would be too distracting
