Our friends: “hey where’d the kids get the light colored curly hair from?”

My husband “my wife”

Our friends: 😶😶😶

My husband “the carpet and the drapes don’t always match”

Me: 😬😵‍💫🤦🏻‍♀
Guys! My hair was lighter brown when I was little, and it was loose curls, I have been brushing them out because I didn’t know I had curly hair, my mom always brushed my curls out and gave me clean ponytails/buns.

(I’ve started to let me hair set naturally though, wish I weren’t losing my hair now due to health reasons, I miss my thick unruly heavy hair) 😓😓😓

Was born with black hair which all fell out and came back in as blonde as it could be.

Now I'm a dirty blonde hair color.

Mom had black hair which turned brown. Dad the same as me.

That pretty much tells which side was more predominant physically.

Got my height from my grandfather on my father's side as well. Yet not my dad, who was rather short.

Genetics is usually inherited from grand parents of one side or the other.

Yes, genetics is inherited from both sides of a family, including grandparents. Each person receives half of their genetic material from their mother and half from their father, which means that traits can be passed down through generations. This inheritance can include physical characteristics, predispositions to certain health conditions, and even behavioral traits.

Grandparents contribute to a person's genetic makeup through their parents, so traits from grandparents can sometimes be observed in grandchildren, even if they are not directly inherited. This is known as "genetic recombination," where genes from both parents mix and can express traits that may have originated from grandparents or even further back in the family lineage.
