I had the same blow dryer for 11 almost 12 years, since I was 17 years sold and I’m 28 now. Should I buy a new one?

I’ve had it since I was 17 so back in 2011. I got it for my 17th birthday so I can learn how to blow dry my hair by myself. I had it for 11 years not surprised it still works. It’s so old though and I read that you should get like a new one after like 8 years. I don’t even know if it’s true or not. I’m planning to buy a new one because I think it’s time to upgrade. One of my friends told me if it still works then why bother buying a new one. Just use it until it stops working. I mean it still works but doesn’t work like it used to and it’s a decade old. It’ll be 12 years next year but it’s time for a new ones.

I still have the same drier I had when I was 16 and trained in hairdressing. I still love it although I have another too. I'm 45. If it's inspected for electrical safety, I don't see a problem
