I darned near scalped myself!

My vacuum cleaner has a pet hair attachment with lil rubber teeth that spin at warp speed. I assume pet hair is very fast and hard to catch.

I tied my hair back for cleaning (the apartment, not my hair) and was leaning over the carpet trying to get up the dog hair when a wisp of my own hair sprang loose and got caught in the lil rubber teeth! Maybe it was just turning itself in.

Yikes.

Fortunately I had the spinning tool in my hand and yanked it off the hose before it devoured much.
