What makes the hair on the right look the way it is? how is it black and blonde at the same time and how is it different from the blonde on the left?

I'm natural blonde and after washing my hair it can be the color on the left and if I don't wash my hair and I use product like gel or hairspray it starts looking darker like the one on the right.

In comparing, I would say blond and darker blond, or light brown going blond.
