Same. I can't seem to separate myself from it even when I know it's in my best interest to do so

I used to have this too.
I can now stand back, and just be a witness. Usually from far.
If I care a lot about them, I'll be hanging around in the level of proximity that they can reach out any time. But I don't interfere before then.
