Do you ever feel like your habits tell you a little about your beginnings?

Ever since I was a child I didn't like shoes and socks.

I've accepted we have to wear them but wherever I go and feel comfortable, I take them off.

I have heard the term grounding as a technique for anxiety.

But I have also heard the term being used when people go outside and stand in the earth.

It's got me thinking about who I am, I feel most at ease when I am " grounded.

Having my hands and feet in soil has at times have probably been some of the happiest memories I can think of. (Picnics, playing in the garden, repotting plants at work, tending to the work garden)

In a past life I was definitely a hippie, in a life before that I was a farmer, in a life before that I was definitely some earth creature.

I can relate to my dog on so many levels.

Who were you in a past life?

I'm with you there. About 85 or 90% of the time, I am mostly barefoot. Even at work, I am barefoot at my desk.
I prefer being barefoot too...
...
But walking around where I reside barefoot? At best, it's a cringe experience but it's really asking for trouble.

@Amyrakunejo that's a shame... I love to feel the carpet under my feet
@Mellowgirl I meant outside. Inside, I'm barefoot. Unless it's really cold (or I'm cold)...
But yeah; nasty grass, busted fucking glass, and Mercy knows what else... I'm not risking that... Nuh-uh.
Sure. I still drink evaporated milk and sleep in until nine when I can.
I know a few people who didn't want to go to school because it involves shoes, and they were still barefoot as often as possible as adults.
