The adults should no better.if the kid doesn't.

I have nothing against kids, it is just that we are at different stages in our lives and I don't find much in common with them for a friendship.

I am respectful towards young people as long as they are respectful towards me.

I did not live in an era were kids and adults were "buddies" and I still think that is the best way.

I do however remember how it felt to be young and not listened to and like I have said if the teen is not disrespectful towards me, I will be respectful towards them.

I have met some excellent young people,so, I know you are not all bad.

Take this time as a learning experience, enjoy it, because it goes by so fast.

There's good and bad in every generation, and people disregard others for many reasons. Some for age, some for behavior, some for gender. We're all here for different reasons, some quite narrow and well-defined is all. I guess what I'm saying is don't let it get you down. Just be you. Enjoy the ones you can enjoy and let the others go on their way. We all experience this to some degree in just about every arena of life regardless of age. Look to the good. :)

Yeah i know what you mean, this generation sucks... i'd much rather go back a few years if i could, this generation seems to be filled with idiots and assholes.. and i really don't see why people discredit people who are younger, maturity doesn't come from age.. it comes from experience, i act like the troll under the bridge from time to time, and i may goof off some times, but as you said, i can be mature and serious when it comes down to it
