How do u follow people on here?

I think my profile just follows people randomly because I'm following 3 random profiles. Is there a button for such mechanism?

If you click on "add a friend" with a specific person it shows you are following them on the list of followers until they add you back and then you are friends. There isn't a button to follow specifically.
