Oh I'd be careful if i were you, too short and you have to sit with the pot heads at lunch , too long and you lose your privileges to the water cooler🤷‍♀

@OogieBoogie I always sit with the pot heads at lunch. 😎😎😎
Depends what people are looking for. I don't think we should apologize for the short or long post. It’s about respect and purpose. And I feel whoever is meant to read it, will read it. They don't look at reading a whole book in one night or even a few chapters, a chore. But I humbly say, just let someone post about God and it's suddenly too long. I really think it depends on where the person's heart is.

A newspaper doesn’t apologize for being long, because it has news to tell. A devotional doesn’t water itself down, because it has truth to give. People will sit through something long...if they believe it’s worth their time. I don’t shrink the Word to fit a scroll.

I'm not just posting. I'm publishing. I'm giving people something they can sit with, pray over, and come back to. Like a newspaper. Like scripture. When led, I give the full meal. The ones who are hungry will stay and eat every word.

And besides, this is the reason people come here, when they're sad or they need to vent or they need help or advice and for that reason, SW doesn't limit our post content. That's what I love about SW. Some things can be condensed, but at other times, it is important to educate perhaps or help someone by giving them the whole meal. Someone may want to simply copy the content and read it later when they have more time. Just something to think about. We call that freedom.

There really IS no "too much" when the Holy Spirit is talking.
SW doesn’t limit content for a reason. Because sometimes people need the whole meal, not a snack.

I'm not too long. I was faithful. And maybe God uses my long posts to make someone ask a question they needed to ask. ♥

It can be as long as you want it to be.
But why write a book.
Keep it short and to the point.
Dont bore people or push them away.
Good luck. 🙂
@Zonuss Because sometimes a person needs a whole meal, not just a snack.

I don't think there's a limit to how much you can post it's just most people here have a short attention spans and aren't going to read a whole book
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@LadyGrace I agree, it depends on what they want to read and how long their attention span is.
But the fact is most people aren't going to read a real lengthy one.
Nothing at all wrong with posting one ❤
@Justmeraeagain I agree. Most people won't but God will send the ones to read it who were meant to. I believe that. It just strikes me funny, how people will read a whole newspaper and not complain about it but they won't read a long post which is actually way shorter than a newspaper and they don't even like all the content in it. 🤭
Justmeraeagain · 56-60, F
@LadyGrace I honestly don't read newspapers.

People lose interest in long ones
ninalanyon · 70-79, T
I haven't hit a limit yet and some of my posts are quite long. But usually I break them up into multiple comments within the post.

I ran ipsum lorem text in one to find out, but it was long ago. I think it was something like 20k characters. maybe 200... vew few people hit it. probably easy to figure out given the size of a text or blob field in mongodb.
Some people don't like when you write the equivalent of the Harry Potter series.

Just post it and stop acting like this is going to be part of your permanent record.

@MarkPaul From the sideline way up in the grand stand. Can you hear that voice yelling arrogant self-righteous prick?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Gibbon For your information, my feet are well planted on the ground, and I am perpetually reaching for the stars. You see, I know how to live life to the fullest and I am open, willing, and passionate about sharing my life experience insights... and yes, wisdom, with others. And... I think I am doing a good job at that. Do I make a few mistakes along the way? Of course... yes, yes, I do. But I acknowledge failure when it occurs. I don't hope for it or want it or necessarily like it, but when it occurs it proves I am trying. And that is the evidence (EVIDENCE) I am always on the hunt for. I hope that clears things up for you.

As you go through life, you will find that helping others is among the most noble things you can do.

@MarkPaul There he is again. On the soap box nose up in the air staring down on his fellow humans.

Perhaps copy and paste the dictionary of the Lithuanian language: Consists of 22 000 pages, includes more than 11 million words.

I've seen posts that were a single emoji and others that would make Tolstoy do a TL;DR.
