Why do you think some on SW open a page.......but never post....and block messages so they get no contact?

You can’t block a user from messaging you unless you get blocked by them, or you block them yourself. However, there’s an option to filter messages that prohibits your message to enter someone’s message inbox directly, in that case it goes to the message requests box. Also, and this might be what you have experienced, which wouldn’t surprise me with some of the content you create, you can only message someone twice unless they respond back to you. This is meant to prevent spamming by users sending messages of no interest. Furthermore, there’s the advantage as long as the messages of someone aren’t responded back, that you cannot message pictures or links. But I believe you already knew all this as you’re no newbie around here.

They are probably treating social media like a streaming service they are just there to watch the drama, not star in it.
