SW should ban whoever it is here going around laughing at people's posts that are more personal and sensitive.

This isn't just a place for memes and catfish. There's a lot going on here and that's a good thing. People deserve to share heartbreak especially if people are allowed to share what they do on the image feed.

I can't see who is laughing because I've already blocked them I guess or they blocked me.

But tbh it's not the person who is going through something difficult's job to fend off these jerks. If this is advertised as a supportive environment, the serial jerks need to be banned.

And the people that think it's so noble to not block them, you enable them.

Fkn do something about assholes for once.

@robingoodfellow I wish it worked that way.
deadgerbil · 26-30, M
From what I've seen it's probably this user. He's been like that for years

@deadgerbil bingo!

This is why I was originally opposed to including a laugh react. A mocking response to something vulnerable is REALLY shitty.
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
@CountScrofula really shitty.

@FreddieUK Yes I'm aware of that.

I'm not distressed, I'm trying to stick up for people's ability to be human. It's called integrity.

For me I've noticed it's usually toxic women that do it to me. I write something personal, they laugh at my feelings. It's all good. I block them if it bothers me but they're probably considered popular so people would support them regardless
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
@ChiefJustWalks That's sick. You're brave to post what you do. We always risk people being jerks when we're real, but that's surprising and shitty. I'm glad you told me. It doesn't matter if they're popular, shit is shit.

He's already on his second account, judging by his user name. Not dumping their asses is stupid on the site's part as it does help drive people away, lowering the $ yielding stats.
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
@ineedadrink there's a lot of good reasons to moderate that crap
BillyMack · 46-50, M
Yeah that’s classless to lowest degree. Anonymity brings out the lowlifes
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
@BillyMack heck I'd do it. But then they'd have to fix the algorithm so I could actually see posts 😕
BillyMack · 46-50, M
@EldritchFox mods would have all power. That might be too much information.
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
@BillyMack I've worked in a men's super max prison, I've seen it all 😂

@CountScrofula yeah I don't think us monitoring things does any good. You just end up blocking people because it's personal. I liked the idea of free VIP to someone who moderates, but then they'd have to fix the algorithm so posts were even seen. I wish SW had a redo
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@EldritchFox No, I apprecaite the work of the anti-pedophilia group who tag problematic posts but it just comes down to the site being too large for a handful of admins to moderate themselves. Some vetted moderators with free VIP could do a lot of good.

There's always mod politics, risks of abuses of power or a fucking Nazi getting in (major issue on reddit) but it's still a better class of problem than this place largely being automoderated and no end of creeps and abusers getting in.
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
@CountScrofula There's definitely people who care and make a lot of effort here. It's very appreciated because a lot of it happens in unseen places. Sometimes I'll get a tip from someone to double check who I'm joking around with because they're actually suspicious. I'm likely not aware of a lot.
