You're missing the fact that you're a man who doesn't get creeps on your profile trying to harass you

@Jexie
Youre right. I'm trying to understand tho.

I don't have VIP, there could be someone stalking me right now. What difference does it make me knowing who it is or not.

What can someone stalking my profile do?
CurrentName · 51-55, M
@Jexie
For example, while I'm responding to this I might go check your profile to see what you're like.
You could be like the 50/60 is half guy, or some political nut case, whatever..
Tomorrow I might Interact with you again and forgotten that I've checked your profile, so I might check it again and think...oh yeah, she's cool, or...oh yeah. It's that jerk.

Maybe I don't understand what stalking is?

If you are so worried about it, buy vip or get gerry to buy it for you.

@MasterLee Thank you for your Not help

VIP gives you both the ability to see who visited your profile ... along with the ability to hide your own visits to anyone else's profile, if they also happen to have VIP ... which just cancels out half the feature, but I suppose does eliminate some pointless distraction and drama ... and puts everyone back onto the same level playing field they were on ... before getting VIP. VIP is a perverse SW construct, a grasping-at-straws attempt to monetize the site.

VIP is a strange SW blend of things that are free on any other social media, mixed with pointless distraction that can beget manufactured drama which in turn becomes fodder for a litany of posts in lieu of other more meaningful posts, which you do not see on any other social media (perhaps because it's pointless.

It's clear some people here are willing to pay for VIP, so the admins could just chuck the pretense of rolling added benefits to VIP and just make it more like a Wikipedia donor / supporter transaction, and eliminate the drama while putting the free features back on par with most other mainstream social media (as well as ditch the ads, particularly now that AI slop and phishing links are becoming more commonplace in the ads themselves, and this presents a danger).

@SnickersDOM
But see this is what's amazing to me.
Almost like a social experiment.
You take something that's basically creepy and dishonest behavior and we're going to call it good in a way that you have to pay for it.
Eventually those who didn't pay for it will see those creepy and dishonest practices as something they wish they had. Isnt that some thing?

Exactly. Manufactured drama is the perfect way to put it.
It appeals to some kind of twisted nature in us.
Like...if someone gave me a ray gun that allows me to see other people in underwear, I would never think of having one of those, but if someone gives one to me, I'd probably use it.
Know what I mean?
Some people just enjoy being sneaky just for the sake of being sneaky, I guess.
@CurrentName Right, yes

@CurrentName
So thats it?
If I have VIP I can see who checks my profile . And if I hide my VIP I can see who checks my profile and they wouldn't know because they don't have VIP.
To me that reminds me of the Gollum character.
Really? That's it. That's silly.
@CurrentName Indeed - a lot over nothing.
some people with vip just like to lurk undetected i guess
CurrentName · 51-55, M

CurrentName · 51-55, M
