Regardless of what the pic is, it matters. If someone doesn’t take the time to distinguish themselves to/from everyone else, can they really expect to be taken seriously?

Without a pic, you look like you’re just coming or just leaving. Both would cause pause.

Don't think I have ever changed mine. I think my shadow hasn't changed much!

Mine matters to me and I change it at irregular intervals. I doubt that it matters to many other people.

Personally I do prefer people to have a profile picture, preferably a picture of themselves or at least not one of someone else and not acknowledged.

Well, let's just say I briefly had no profile pic and all activity on my profile stopped. No one viewed my profile or messaged me. The second I post a new pic all of a sudden I get way more attention 😒

It absolutely matters to people who want attention from their pic and want people to comment on it. Other than that then no not really. Mine are just pictures I like saved from Google.

I think a profile picture makes people feel more comfortable interacting because they get a sense of who you might be based on what you choose.

It depends on the platform.
In FB if you don’t have a pp ,you’re considered fake .
In SW ,if you don’t hav a pp ,it doesn’t matter .

I have a profile pic, but I don’t think it helps. I like being honest and showing who I am. I hate people who don’t post a profile pic.
